Posted - 2006 January 29 : 16:47:31 After the waltz party at the 2004 Homecoming weekend in Annapolis, Sara Barker, a St. John’s alumna, asked security to help her find her purse. Security treated her rudely, telling her that she was foolish not to keep track of her possessions. After an argument, security grabbed her and shoved her face against a wall. Accounts differ, but she may have broken a bottle or thrown a chair, but not at security, during the argument with them. It was later discovered that her purse was in the security office the entire time. Witnesses say that her actions were not exemplary but that security seemed to be unhelpful and itching for a fight. Many alumni witnessed this event; these alumni acted to calm everyone down and find her lost purse. In this incident, security was the problem, not the solution. The alumni essentially did the job that security was hired to do. |
